Hey, guys,
So. It sounds like most of us will be home for OSD, and of course we should get together. I'm hoping, also, that we can include a memorial for Mariah. It seems really important. Any ideas? Locations? Times?
Unfortunately, I'm going to have to leave sooner than I had expected, probably the night of the 29th in order to attend the memorial for another friend outside of Chicago on the 30th. Which is all very sudden and sad, and necessitates changing my flight. Any suggestions on how I might do that with a minimum of charges?

I like the idea of doing a memorial for Mariah on Saturday morning, maybe at the lake, a couple hours before parade. We should ponder what we'd like to do for it. What do you all think?
I am not sure what all of our schedules will permit for lunch -- do we want to eat together, or will you all have family plans, etc? It might be nice for us to think about doing a picnic and hanging out before some of us have to leave that afternoon.
I want to hit the auxiliary thrift shop if it's open!
Hey, all. I chatted with LeAnn on the phone last night, and she's going to try to come, too!
What do you feel we should do for the memorial?
Caaaaatie! Where are you?
I say it's up to Catie, though I have a few ideas that I want her to vet.
When is LeAnn coming down?
Yes, I have a few ideas, too, but I say it's up to Catie. LeAnn said she would like to know what time we were planning to have memorial, but that she'll probably only be able to make it in time for parade. ??? Once we've made plans -- which we need to do -- I will call her since she's rarely able to be online anymore.
Has anyone figured out yet what time the parade is?
I'm not really a morning person, but I vote for as early as possible. 8? There's just something about early morning light and quiet . . .
Ok, well, my idea was mostly to bring pictures and share stories.
Let's just say, 9:00 at the lake? Early, but we probably want to be sure to have enough time. We could meet near the lake hall and then decide where to go from there.
LOL, Ellie and I are dueling posters! Yeah, even earlier would be nice and quiet. We may have to contend with lake runners, but I can't imagine that would be too much. Parade starts at 11.
And yes, I've started my pile of pictures to bring.
I'd like to be out there pretty early, of course I get up early anyway, but 8 sounds good to me. What about that idea Jen had about little paper boats? I'm sure Mariah would have liked that.
What about music?
I'm going to bring my iPod and portable speakers, so we can have it at the lake. I have a "1994 was rad" mix CD that a friend made for me, as well as some other things.
(Anyone else with a 'pod, feel free to bring some music, but unfortunately, I'm pretty sure these speakers only have the iPod plug-in, thus other mp3 players can't hook into them.)
Hmmm, I wonder if I can wrestle Topher's ipod from him... if so, I will bring it along.
