Coming Home to Kansas

10.25.2006

Now that I have a computer...

I can regale you with pictures of my past.

This was just after Christmas last year, Sandra and her kids washing sea clams to make ceviche. It was pretty good

This is my best Ecuadorian friend, Sandra, with her son, who is my godson in theory. We were at an outdoor mass, just before christmas 05. I would not have gotten through those tow years with out Sandra and her family.

Right before I left, the kids from the school came to say good bye. They broke my heart. I took this picture in my garden.

These are really cool pictures, Hannah. The last one is especially beautiful. I'm sure many PC volunteers have published things based on their experiences, but you could really create a wonderful book through your writing and photographs.

Yeah, I really want to do Something to honor that time...I'm so afraid of it slipping away from me. And I need to do something truly creative and absorbing...I keep thinking about going back to school, a school where I could somehow combine growing things, making things and writing about things. It would be wonderful to be get some external stimulation. Probably i should move to a university town and take some classes, and then pick a school. I've thought about an MFA, but I also want to have a practical skill that i can make a living at, and hopefully help some people that need it...teaching ESL really only goes so far.

Anyway, I'm glad you like the photos. The one on the bottom is my favorite, too.

By the way, I didn't take the one of the group of us. Actually, I think I will remove it.
