Coming Home to Kansas

fyi: pandora

Maybe you all already know about Pandora -- Topher tells me I'm always a few weeks behind what's going on internet-wise -- but I thought I would send the word along anyway. Basically, it's a radio station you can customize for free. Simply go the site, type in any artist or song you like, and they'll start playing all sorts of similar stuff. For example, I loved hearing that song by the Waifs that Catie included on her CD -- so I typed in that group. The songs that followed were by Ani Difranco, Indigo Girls, and .... well, that should already tell you how spot-on it is. I just started listening, but so far, so great.

And happy new year, all!

Well, I'm behind, too, because this is the first I am hearing of it.

Too bad I can't do this at home on dial-up, but I'm trying it today in the office, and so far, it's super cool.

Awesome: my station built upon Ani DiFranco and an obscure alt-country folkie named Anna Egge is yielding some great songs!

I just saw that you can e-mail your stations to friends. E-mail me yours, Fletch, Lesley!

Definitely!! I saw that feature, too, and will email stations, playlists, to you. Garrett, you need to send us your station, too!

Okay, actually, after emailing a station to Ellie, I noticed that you can just share stations by adding an email address. So I added your email address, and got your stations!

Ok, cool. I e-mailed you and Gretchen my alt-80s station but not the folkie one, because I didn't know how to without closing the alt-80s and starting to listen to the folk one.
