A new look

Um.... I meant to post this on a test blog, but I guess it got posted here, too. Oops.

What do you think? I liked the design a lot in the beginning, but I'm not completely sold on it now. I'm not opposed to finding a completely new one. (I found this design online, changed the colors, and tweaked the coding to fit us.)

Is the text big enough? The archive link is at the very bottom of the page. Is that beyond inconvenient?

Give me all your thoughts, criticism, and suggestions!

I really like the colors. But I almost think the center column needs to be wider.

I like the colors. I think the size of the text is fine but I agree with you that maybe the text area could be a bit wider. I think it's groovy though.

i like it, too!.. so decided to go against the "shades of green" idea? i thought that sounded pretty cool as well.

I agree with Jen completely. And I wouldn't mind the text larger. Colors rock -- and I like the heading with our names much better than other one.

Sarah is reading from her phone and said she can't read it now that it's pink.

Because of all the pinkness, or the cream background to the text?

I'm still working on making the column bigger. Arg. Dumb coding.

What if I swapped the white and cream backgrounds, so she'd be reading the text on white?

She said the pink was messing it up.

What about font? Are there font options?

Still not getting it. What pink? To me, the two sidebars are mauve. (ish, but for the purpose of me figuring out what she's talking about, let's say mauve)

The boxes left to right are purple, dusty rose, mauve, and brown.

The background on the posts is cream.

What is her phone not working well with?

I'm trying to swap the cream and white backgrounds, but am having trouble with the coding.

Fonts.

I picked the sans-serif as a personal preference, but we could certainly use a sans like Times New Roman if y'all wanted that.

Fonts are also dependent on what you have installed on your own computer. For each coding of font in the blog, there are four possible ones that could appear in the page you see.

So I guess in that way you SORT OF have an option.

Anyone else have an opinion on fonts?

Hey Jen, you might ask Sarah if her monitor is too bright. Ask her to tweak the brightness or contrast of her monitor to fix it. It shows up as mauve and white on mine too. So Ellie, you aren't going crazy or taking psychedelics (or are you?)

It's mauve for me too. Incidentally our living room carpet is mauve as well. Isn't that a travesty? But thankfully it appears closer to beige in most lights, which is a relief because we can't afford to replace it.

Sarah's blogging on her phone so it may show up pink for her. It's a rosy mauve on my end and it shows up just fine.
