Coming Home to Kansas

good times, good times...

Hi, everyone... not sure where to start with this, except to say how much i've missed the good ol' days with you all...
Three of my fondest memories:
1) Lesley's birthday at her parent's house: watching The Princess Bride and not letting the actors do their job to entertain us because we INSISTED on word-for-wording aloud the entire movie... laughing hysterically at Topher's card tricks and eating all kinds of "i shouldn't be eating this" snacks. And after a while, laying outside in the yard. All of us intently scanning the night sky for shooting stars... and me always missing them somehow...*STILL can't catch one*
2) Fimo night at Hannah's house: gathering around the Bennett table to talk about anything and everything, and make Fimo beads. Hannah always outdoing all of us with her creations *Little Miss Over-Acheiver :)* The smell of the baking clay in the oven and the "Oooohs" and "Ahhhhs" we'd give each other over our works of art.
3) Ellie's house: typical night... the nacho cheese dip. What an event! :) While Ellie slaves over the hot stove, Leann and I play on the piano... Mark, Garrett, Lesley, Mariah and Hannah are gabbing about the latest and poking fun at each other. *Remember... me talking about my dreamhouse with a movie theater on top?... and garrett exclaiming, "Well, Catie, that's stupid..." "why?" "Well, think about it... if you stand in the rain, you're gonna get wet..." I, of course, forgetting to mention that the theater would have a ROOF over it... silly catie... but a very good and factual observation, garrett. :)* Then watching The Last of The Mohicans; Daniel Day Lewis, in all of his heroic glory, with hair blowing back in the wind while his shirtless sweaty body kicked butt and looked great doing it (that's how it should be, right ladies?). Garrett and Mark rolling their eyes at us as we swoon. Me making everyone take turns at playing with my hair *Mariah, Ellie and Leann: my prime victims*.
Those were the good times, huh? In the similar respect of those shooting stars at Lesley's... i miss them.
But it's nice to think that some day soon... we might all have our own little reunion.

Oh, Fiesta Nacho cheese! I can't find it anywhere here, and I miss it greatly.

I miss watching the meteors on my birthday! I realized that I had written about my 20th birthday ten years ago -- and I'm sure that was the last time we did that. And I haven't been able to find a place to watch them any better than my parents' backyard.
